Roast Duck

The singing ducks of the North

It is told that a poor duck farmer from the remotest hills of the north taught his ducks to sing beautiful melodies that filled the air with a sweet smell of spice.

Word spread of the singing ducks but the farmer refused to reveal his secret. Despite offers of riches he spent his days tending to his melodic birds and playing his flute.

A professional thief was paid to steal one of the ducks. The stolen bird was roasted and found to be so delicious, it should be shared with the whole of Vietnam – it’s flesh diced so all the people could experience it’s wonder.

The thief was sent again but the farmer and his singing flock could not be found, only the sweet smell of spice lingered in the air.
